It seems from what you were saying that there would have already not been any Israeli album charts by the 1990s?Īnyway, here's another albums chart from Lahiton, Ĥ.Various-Mach 1 (looks like a pretty decent compilation album, 8 tracks out of 11 were top 10 hits in Gimel) I was also curious how popular progressive rock was/is in Israel given that there have been some high profile groups and collaborations there (Steve Wilson comes to mind along with Orphaned Land but I could only find chart information for Europe). To what extent would you say that is still the case? It seems like rock in general was pretty popular in Israel.

The second period of Lahiton albums chart is form 1986, I only got 2 of those and they only have artist names-annoying! They were based on reports from record companies and from a few record stores. There were two album charts by Lahiton-one from the early 80's that was also on Billboard, and one later. I got a couple of them on an old drive somewhere, don't have access to them right now. There were a couple of other charts around.įirst, there was an albums chart and an actual singles chart based on sales! That's a shame the singles market in Israel died around the Yom Kipur war.
